Notes about the 2025 event

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!  Please read below then go to the RACE INFO page to get signed up.

The 2025 Honest Abe will take place on Sunday, September 21st.  There will be re-routing of the course due to major work being done on the lake dam.  For the previous 16 years our 14k & Marathon participants have crossed the dam on the west side of Lake Lincoln, but that will not be accessible this year.

Beginning with the first event in 2009 the Honest Abe Trail Run was entirely organized and executed by a very small band of dedicated volunteers with critical help from park personnel.  As of the 2022 event, the Honest Abe Trail Run has been officially put on by Friends of Lincoln State Park with continued and increased support from park personnel.  The Friends group is a great 501(c)(3) consisting of volunteers focused on supporting and preserving the park.

This event consists of three races within Lincoln State Park.  All proceeds will be donated directly to Lincoln State Park.  Proceeds from past events have been used for critical things like planting trees and trail maintenance, among other things.
